Twin Rivers Quilters Guild

Community
Our community efforts include Ronald MacDonald quilts which are donated to the Greenville Ronald
MacDonald house. We also make quilts and aprons for our local nursing homes. In addition Twin
Rivers supports the local Woman's Shelter. Each month members are asked to bring in different
items needed at the shelter. Cell phones are always greatly appreciated along with sheets and
bedding.
Animal Rescue 2007
We provided Animal Rescue with 2 quilts again this year.
Animal Rescue will raffle these quilts to provide funding for saving our fury friends,.
We would like to thank our sponsors, Hobbs and Fairfield, for their generous donation to our community efforts.

Home of the Brave Project 2007
TRQG participates in a national grass roots project which sends quilts to the families of military
personnel killed in Iraq and Afganistan. This project follows the U.S. Civil War tradition of civilians
supplying quilts to soldiers. Our quilts are primarily sent to families of military personnel from
North Carolina. In February we began with a workshop to complete the churn dash blocks and put
quilts together. Thus far, we have supplied 27 quilts to families who have lost love one as an
expression of our sympathy for their tragic loss. Quilts continue to be made by our members
and delivered to families who have lost loved ones. This is a nationwide project with many
Guilds across our country participating. Unfortunately, this effort will continue into next year.
